  1. Words first attempt/revision... (still working)
    Statement (100 words)

As a collaborative team our creative paths are consistently crossing and simultaneously branching out. On the one side Park brings a research oriented and conceptual specificity to each project while Kate offers a witty stimulus and adept perseverance to each project. To be viewed as a single entity we are both constantly on the biting edge of everyday events as if in our convergent mind we are sure that there is a reality beyond the mundanity of survival. We do not want to stride through supposed superficial events, but veer off and collide into our world with a playful ferocity.

    Proposal (110 words)
Our plan is to orchestrate an experiential work that will involve the fair as an ‘art convention’ and fair goers themselves, by creating a, somewhat spectacular, but ultimately subtle conversation about burgeoning creative media and art that exists outside of the fair itself.
Using audio and video as the main forms of media, we will simultaneously stream a specific event to a central location at the Fair. In multiple locations around the United Kingdom we will employ cinematic props, such as sugar glass and mirrors, to re-present the physical definition of each location as experienced through the streaming media. The ultimate experience will resonate throughout the fair at strategic locations.

I think everything needs work, but just wanted to get my first attempt up so you could see it.

  2. Statement 2 (97 words)
As a collaborative team our creative paths are consistently crossing and simultaneously branching out. We are ne part tactical, conceptual research, based in psycho-physical experience, and one part witty, literal interpretation of the clever milieu of everyday life. To be viewed as a single entity we are both constantly on the biting edge of everyday events as if in our convergent mind we are sure that there is a reality beyond the mundanity of survival. We do not want to stride through supposed superficial events, but veer off and collide into our world with a playful ferocity.

    Proposal 2 (100 words)
‘Running Towards Tidal Waves’ is a project in which an event orchestrated via streaming audio and video will occur in multiple locations in the United Kingdom to ultimately resonate in specific forms and locations within the fair. A major goal of this piece is to stimulate a conversation about the re-presentation of seemingly mundane surroundings through media technology and playfully disrupt the all to familiar aspects of the “art fair” as “art convention.” Our plan employs a smattering of video trickery, networking systems, and cheeky output, in order to subtly turn the sense of reality at the fair inside out.
